Stuttgart Meekins Middle School
We were approached in 2006 to review a facility built in the fifties in
the Stuttgart School District known as Meekins Middle School. The
facility had been abandoned and sat dormant for over eight years.
The building was in rough shape, but after a full check up it was found
that the basic structure was in great shape. With some repairs to the
roof and an interior remodel new students were able to take to the
classrooms that next year.
Subtle design cues were used to brighten the facility, such as the new
logo installed in the floor as you enter the building. New high
efficiency glass was used on the exterior windows to help with heating
and cooling costs. The lockers in the facility were in good shape
but in bad need of a paint job. They were refinished using an
electrostatic paint process which helps bond the paint in an even and
efficient manner and leaves a strong long lasting coating.
